She owns the screen here as Maria Angeles, a woman who lives above Calle Malaga (Malaga Street) in a busy neighbourhood of Morocco.
She loves the people and the atmosphere and is much loved in return. Her life is upended when her daughter , the legal owner of the flat, decides to sell it from under her. Her daughter requests she return to Spain with her, but Maria refuses.
