Drama

An extended family reconvene at their father's house post his passing to clean it up and prepare it for sale. Two very different brothers and their sister head up the family groups present.  David Verdaguer, the star of Jokes and Cigarettes, also in this years Festival, features here as the writer brother most at odds with his more practical sibling, the ever reliable Luis Callejo.

The initial intention to sell and each move on with their very different lives is put off course as fond memories begin to surface and a fear of jettising the past affects them more than they at first thought possible.  Conflicts arise early and need to be settled.

Winner of six awards at the 2024 Málaga Film Festival, La Casa is a reflective exploration of duty, regret and family ties expertly directed by Alex Montoya who has avoided the hackneyed genre of the intimate family drama and delivered a fine piece of film making that every viewer will be be able to relate to.
