Based on champion pastry chef Yazid Ichemrahem’s autobiography, Sugar and Stars is a comedy-drama film brim full of struggle and triumph.  A feel-good cinematic gem that will have you laughing and crying and licking your lips in equal measures.

It stars up and comer  Riadh Belaïche in the story of how Yazid secured an apprenticeship at a prestigious Parisian restaurant and had to quickly learn how to  navigate the elitist pastry world under the guidance of the chefs he idolises, but who are way tougher than he imagined.

Throughout his journey, Yazid must grapple with homelessness, family issues and a lack of belonging to remain set on his goal - to compete for Paris at the International Pastry championship.

With his talent and the support of true friends, Yazid  gets alwasy one step closer to finding the secret ingredient to achieving his dreams - against all odds.
